Tooth Extractions
in the Depew, NY Area

Tooth extraction may be necessary when teeth are infected or broken down beyond the ability to repair them. When tooth extraction becomes necessary, the team at Bochiechio Personalized Dentistry strives to make the experience as comfortable as possible.

We take additional steps in every case to prevent bleeding and other problems that are common after tooth extraction. When needed we may also do bone grafting to prevent the loss of the dental ridge especially when dental implants will be used to replace the missing teeth.

Our team has had extensive additional training in the most advanced surgical techniques and can provide most procedures in our office without the need to see another office.

To get started, please feel free to give us a call and schedule an appointment! We proudly serve patients throughout Depew, Clarence, Cheektowaga, Lancaster, Williamsville, Amherst, West Seneca, Tonawanda, East Amherst, Buffalo, NY, and the surrounding areas.

When are Tooth Extractions Necessary?

Periodontal disease - Periodontal disease is an infection of the teeth that holds the gums in place. This disease is typically a result of poor brushing and flossing habits and cannot be cured. Since periodontal disease is incurable, people who have it usually need to schedule appointments for tooth extractions for any infected teeth.

Teeth that cannot be restored or repaired - Teeth that are too far gone due to cavities or severe decay will need to be removed. However, the first few steps to fixing issues with your teeth are much smaller than tooth extraction. Your dentist will check to see how big the spot of decay is and if it can be filled, then they will fill it. A cavity that cannot be filled will be fixed by a root canal procedure. If a filling or a root canal will not fix the issue, then the tooth will be extracted. A dentist will only resort to tooth extraction when nothing can be done to save your infected tooth.

Overcrowding - Wisdom teeth are something that most people get removed because they can cause overcrowding, which as a result would affect other teeth. Overcrowding causes other teeth in your mouth to shift so other teeth will no longer be straight. Tooth extraction is a simple solution to keep wisdom teeth from ruining other teeth in your mouth.
